(AIR CIRCULATION)

 Air circulation
People often, ignore the air circulation in our kitchen garden. We take it for granted and do not bother as it is present everywhere. We cannot see the air, all we can feel it and watch it blowing with help of leaves swings. Plants inhale Co2 from the air and release oxygen for humans and animals. They are the main source of oxygen so gardening is not only a hobby but it is also an oxygen production industry. No plant can survive without proper airways. You should take care to provide ample air to all indoor and outdoor plants. Indoor plants clean the indoor area by inhaling carbon dioxide from the air. This illustrates
that we should place indoor plants in our living and lounge areas. They look beautiful and beneficial as well.

WHY IS AIR IMPORTANT FOR KITCHEN GARDEN?

Air circulation, kitchen gardening
Be vigilant for the growth of your tiny plants in your pots, behave them like a child and give proper attention. Air is as necessary to your plants as other components like water, sunshine, and organic matter. Since you never overlook the necessity for a lush green and healthy kitchen garden. You must be thinking that my pots and containers are already in an open area, so, what a big deal? Relax; still, you need to do something that is good for your plants.

Air is important for plants because they need the air for photosynthesize procedure. Hence in this procedure, plants make food for them. They also breathe through their leaves and roots. Air helps them to convert their food into energy. Leaves are visible to us and we can look after them accordingly. But roots are not visible on the ground and we cannot watch them anyway.

PROPER WAYS TO CARE FOR AIR CIRCULATION

OUTDOOR PLANTS
Keep proper spacing between each plant so that they can breathe properly.
This distance will allow air to reach the roots of plants. Keep the soil moist and soft this will also help the air to go down.
Cleanliness is very important in kitchen gardening. You should gather all the dry leaves, flower petals and birds waste from your garden with 3-4 days intervals.

INDOOR PLANTS
  • There is a common problem for indoor plants, they gather dust and debris on their leaves and stop the growth and nourishment. You should keep them clean on regular basis.

  • Allow your indoor plants to breathe in fresh air, put them in open area with intervals of a week or fortnightly.

  • Keep your indoor plants near to a window or passage door. They can enjoy the treat themselves.

  • A ceiling or pedestal fan is also helpful, it can flow the air and fulfill the needs of indoor plants.

SOME OTHER TIPS
  • Like all other factors, air has also limitation towards plants. You should take care of air circulation while laying a structure of your container or kitchen garden.
  • Small plants do not require severe airflow so you should place them in the shady area and prevent them from direct touch.
  • Good airflow helps to prevent bugs and insects from plants. This tiny creature has not enough strength to resist against the force of air.
