HOW TO TAKE CARE OF MY PLANTS WHEN I AM AWAY?

How to release your stress life? It is just a vacation or holiday that refreshes us and makes us ready for another hectic chapter of professional life. Plants are also a part of our life; we take care of them unconditionally with all our heart and soul. We never miss to feed them when we are around. Now, the question is how to plant care when I am away. What you can do when you have to take a break for a vacation and you have no alternative to look after them. This is an interesting and important question in modern times.

We have some solutions to this problem. Now, you need not worry if you are going out of town for some days. All you need is to take some steps before planning a vacation. You will find them fresh, happy and be welcoming at your return.

OUTDOOR PLANT CARE WHEN I AM AWAY

Outdoor plants need more care as compare to indoor plants because air and sunlight evaporate the moisture and let them dry very soon. Here are the tips to keep them well for 5-7 days.

It is recommended not to leave them unattended more than 7 days. You should assign someone to take care of them if you are planning a long holiday.

• Keep the pots in a shady place to avoid direct sunlight

• You can even keep them indoor at vent area

• Water the outdoor pots properly before leaving them

• Place drip tray or plastic plates under each pot and container and fill them with water.

• Fill plastic or clay plates with pebbles, now fill them with water at the level of pebbles and place them under every pot or container.

• Fill a large tub or plastic pool and fill the water up to 4 inches or the ¼ level of your pots, now place your pots in it according to its capacity. You can choose any available resource to alternate the plastic pool.

• Trim the dry stems and leaves from plant

• Remove the dry material out of the pots and containers

• Do not scatter fertilizer before going out, especially, grainy fertilizer. Postpone it until you come back.

• Drip irrigation is also a solution

The lawn is difficult to care in your absence; all we can place automatic spray hoses for interval spray at plants. Secondly, we have to appoint someone to take care of them. Big and hard stem plants need not much care.

INDOOR PLANT CARE WHEN I AM AWAY

Plastic bag protection

• Give water to all indoor plants

• Take few plastic bags, a few inches higher and wider to the size of plant and pot. Now cover the entire pot and plant with the plastic bag. This will keep the moisture inside for many days and keep the plants fresh for approximately 5-7 days.

• Place some wooden sticks to avoid direct contact with the plastic bag to leaves or foliage.

• Place drip tray or plastic plates fill with water under every pot

• Do not scatter fertilizer before leaving the home

• Remove all dull leaves

• Keep the pots clean from dry leaves and stems
