Light-Kitchen Garden
Light-Kitchen garden. Light is the necessary source for the growth of plants. They form chlorophyll with the help of sunshine. Without proper sunshine, they become pale and dry. So, this component must keep in mind before starting this program of relaxation. These days, we have multiple options for lights. Some of them are as below.

LIGHT PLAN FOR OUTDOOR PLANTS

SUNSHINE

The big shiny ball is the main resource for all living objects. You must give it a foremost priority for light at kitchen gardening. As described in my earlier blog regarding directions, you should choose the place according to the availability of sunshine and air. This will result in the lush green garden, more fruitful plants and colorful flowers.

The requirement of sunshine varies from plant to plant. This duration may be from 3 to 8 hours a day as they have different requirements and moods. Mostly, soft stem plants do not need plenty of sunshine except at the time of ripening of fruits and vegetables.

If you have some plants in a shady area, you can place it in sunshine for some hours after a week or 10 days intervals.

GREENHOUSES

It is a technique to grow plants, vegetables and fruits within the structure that is covered with a transparent material such as plastic, glass or fiber.  This type of irrigation is very popular as there are tiny size greenhouses that are called cold frame to industrially sized irrigation greenhouses. The light source if sun for this type of irrigation.

LIGHT PLAN FOR INDOOR PLANTS

ALTERNATE DAYS LIGHT
Indoor plants are normally, require not much sunshine but if we provide them with a little bit after 5-7 days, it will be a gift to them. Keep them for some hour in the medium sunshine with above-said intervals. This treatment is the best solution for healthy and nutrient plants and gives the impression of being lively.

PLACING OF INDOOR PLANTS

You can place an indoor plant along with a window or any other place where sunshine can come through the glass. It is as good as you have placed it in open area.

INDOOR LIGHTS

We have now an available resource for artificial lighting bulbs for indoor plants. This artificial way of lighting is good for such places where you have no access to sunshine. It is a little bit expensive way of light as compared to sunlight that is free of cost but this provides almost the same benefit to our plants. These lights are available in fluorescent, white, blue, orange and red colors. According to various researchers, colorful lights have a good impact on the growth of plants, fruits, and flowers.

Types of artificial light is as below.
  • UV Lights
  • LED Lights
  • High-Pressure Sodium lights
  • Halide
  • Mercury Lights

REFLECTIONS
Mirror reflection can be good for indoor plants. Many times we have a large vase for our indoor plants that are difficult to move at times. We can put a mirror at a certain place where we can get plenty of sunshine. Now set the plant at a place where the mirror is reflecting the sunlight. This is one-time job and result will be awesome.
